Does your siding really look like logs?

Yes, the siding profiles are milled to match the profile of our logs.

Is it possible to have log corners to match the siding?

Yes, we offer butt and pass corner pieces.  This is a great way to complete the authentic "log home" look.

What lengths do the siding styles come in?

8', 10', 12', 14', and 16'.  It is best to vary the sizes for an authentic log look.

Will there be a lot of shrinkage in the wood?

No, all of our log siding and tongue & groove products are kiln dried.

How often does the exterior need to be treated?

Frequency will depend on the location of the home and the amount of protection from the elements.  We generally recommend every 3 - 4 years, this will vary depending on the products used.  Please see our Finishing page for more information.

How many lineal feet does it take to cover a square foot?

It takes 1.745 lineal feet to cover one square foot on the wall.

What type of wood do you use?

Southern yellow pine, Spruce/Pine/Fir, Cedar, and we can consider special requests.

Are full log homes less expensive than framed homes?

You can achieve the log look by building a conventional home, with stud walls and insulation, and applying log siding.  Although the appearance is identical, the cost is much less and you will save in utility costs year after year.  Log siding is great for remodeling existing homes and is often used to transform the appearance of manufactured and mobile homes.
